General description of Socials
The themes, dates, and venues may vary, but generally you can expect the UADC to hold several socials throughout the year. Socials range from smaller casual gatherings to grand formal affairs; be sure to check out the main SOCIALS page for more information on upcoming events.

Small Socials
The U of A Dance Club's socials are some of the best events around! They allow you to meet many of the members of the club, practice the patterns you have learned in class, and just have some fun all in a friendly atmosphere.

Halloween Dance
Our yearly Halloween Dance promises a fantastic opportunity to showcase your costumes. We hold a contest for the best male, female, and group costumes of the evening. We also have a Pumpkin Carving contest. (You will need to bring the pumpkin already carved).

Valentine's Day Dance
How can romance be better expressed than with an elegant night of ballroom dance? What can compare to a Tango in the night with a rose caught lightly between your teeth? Or to perform a sultry Rumba across the coolly lit dance floor in candlelight ambiance? This and more will be offered at our yearly Valentines Dance, which promises to be the most romantic of the year. So come enjoy Valentine's Day with your favourite dance partner or significant other, and enjoy a class of romance and elegance you won't find anywhere else!

Winter Waltz
Winter Waltz is the UADC first semester windup dance. It is a very formal event allowing everyone to dress up in their finest and go out for a wonderful evening of dinner and dancing. Held at the Shaw Conference Centre (9797 Jasper Avenue), this event provides an atmosphere of class and elegance. At over 12 000 square feet of dance space, Winter Waltz can comfortably dance over 400 couples simultaneously!
Winter Waltz usually comprises of the following:
- Cocktails
- A Three Course
- Dinner Dancing Until 1:00am
